The sun is shining at just the right time for the vines as they are coming to the end of the all-important flowering period (we always say it coincides with Wimbledon fortnight) it seems strange that vines flower so late in the summer but that’s one of the things that makes it possible for us to produce great wine in the UK as it avoids the late frosts, the grapes are now developing very quickly and the earliest variety Siegerrebe being ready to pick in about the 3rd week of September.

We would now like a long hot summer!
