The Sommelier Wine Awards is a wine competition with a difference, since it started in 2007 it has grown to become the first point of reference for the UK's on-trade wine buyers. This year we entered the awards for the first time and were delighted to be awarded a Silver Medal for our Siegerrebe 2013.
This wine has also been selected for serving to an international audience at the Gala Dinner at the International Cool Climate Symposium in Brighton at the end of the month. It is great to see that the aromatic style is still appreciated amongst all of this interest in Sparkling wine.
All the wines are tasted blind and here are what the judges said of our Siegerrebe:
"Beautiful peach aromas, with good acidity and length"
Joaquin Alba of Aramark at JP Morgan
"Very aromatic honey, white flowers, grapes and a touch of sultana'
Marcin Oziebly of The Harrow at Little Bedwyn
